Coolant Service in Cedar Hill, TX

Coolant Service in Cedar Hill, TX

Many different fluids flow through your Jeep Wagoneer, Dodge Durango, Chrysler Pacifica, and Ram 2500, and coolant is one of the most important. Eventually, it will come to the end of its lifespan, necessitating a service that is best undertaken by professionals. Our Service Department at Freedom Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram by Ed Morse can handle this for you!
Purpose of Coolant
Coolant is a liquid that circulates through a car’s engine and a dedicated cooling system to help regulate your engine’s temperature. Your powertrain produces a tremendous amount of heat when you’re driving through Cedar Hill, and coolant helps to regulate it. Not only does it prevent overheating by transferring the excess warmth to a radiator, but it also serves other needs as well. For example, it protects the engine when you’re driving in cold weather, optimizes that unit’s performance, and also reduces the buildup of corrosion and rust throughout the channels it runs in. All in all, it’s necessary to have coolant in the right quantity and condition to protect your vehicle and keep it running to your job or Cedar Hill Park Reserve Trail.
Service Timeline and Process
Your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram car needs to have the coolant and its associated equipment checked often to ensure they’re working at their best. Every three to six months, you should examine what's left in the reservoir to be sure you have enough and that it’s not polluted or otherwise compromised. A coolant service is a term usually applied to a flush and replacement, and you should aim to have this done at least once every two years, 30,000 miles, or as described in your model’s Owner’s Manual. When you schedule a coolant service, our team of technicians will drain it from your car’s reservoir, use a chemical flush to clean out the system, and then refill it with a fresh batch of Mopar®-approved antifreeze. The process usually takes less than an hour, and then you’ll be back on the roads to Virginia Weaver Park in time for your little one’s ballgame.
Warning Signs You Need a Coolant Service
If you pay attention to the way your car behaves when you’re driving, then you’ll notice changes that could indicate a need for this service. One clear sign is that the engine frequently runs hotter than normal, with the temperature gauge rising unexpectedly and rapidly. You may also notice coolant that appears dirty or discolored, which requires looking into the reservoir every so often. Other common indicators include a sweet smell coming from the engine bay. Typically, those occurrences happen when there is too little coolant in the car, often from a leak. That leads us to the final red flag, and that is a puddle of brightly colored fluid below the front end of your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram vehicle. If you are faced with any of these issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for help!

I had the pleasure of working with Travis Moody today. His knowledge of the task at hand was second to none. I had tires swapped out and he mentioned a deal where I could get two tires free! I immediately took him up on that offer instead of just replacing two tires. He made sure that everything was taken care of, and in a timely fashion. I would have to say this was my best experience at a dealership to date.

Y’all keep it up!
